Virginia is an Assistant Professor of Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University, and a courtesy faculty member in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Her research interests are in machine learning, optimization, and distributed systems. Recent topics include: large-scale machine learning, distributed optimization, federated and collaborative learning, multi-task learning, and privacy-preserving ML.
