Wenting Zhao

Wenting Zhao is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at Cornell University. Her research focuses on reasoning: she develops techniques that can accurately reason over real-world scenarios and creates benchmarks that reliably reflect the reasoning performance of language models in applications. She co-organizes multiple tutorials and workshops, most recently at ICLR 2025 on the VerifAI: AI Verification in the Wild workshop and at ACL 2023 on the Complex Reasoning in Natural Language tutorial. During her PhD, she has interned at Amazon, IBM, and Allen Institute for AI. She was named a rising star in Generative AI in 2024 and the intern of the year at Allen Institute for AI in 2023.
