Viorica Patraucean

Research Scientist, Google DeepMind

Viorica Patraucean is a Research Scientist in Google DeepMind. Her research interests include multimodal perception models and their evaluation, efficient video processing, robotics, and biologically-inspired learning algorithms. Before joining Google DeepMind, she received her PhD from the University of Toulouse, France, in image processing, and then carried out postdoctoral work at Ecole Polytechnique Paris and University of Cambridge working on 3d shape analysis and video processing. She organises regularly workshops in CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS around design and evaluation of multimodal models, alternatives to backpropagation, and efficient models for vision. She is one of the founders of the yearly Eastern European Machine Learning summer school.
