Monique Laurent
Monique Laurent is senior researcher at CWI within the research group Networks and Optimization, with a part-time appointment as full professor at Tilburg University. She received her PhD in Mathematics from the University of Paris Diderot in 1986. Before joining CWI in 1997, she held research positions at CNET (French National Center for Telecommunication Studies), and CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), and was affiliated with the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. She was a Humboldt fellow at the University of Bonn in 1991-1992, and has held visiting positions at Yale University, IASI-CNR in Rome, and the Tokyo Institute of Technology. She became a SIAM fellow in 2017. Her research interests are in discrete, semidefinite and polynomial optimization, with a focus on combinatorial and algebraic methods; and recently in applications to quantum information.
