Marco Mondelli

Marco Mondelli is a postdoctoral scholar in the Electrical Engineering Department at Stanford University, hosted by Professor Andrea Montanari. He obtained his PhD in Computer and Communication Sciences from EPFL, Switzerland, under the supervision of Professor Rüdiger Urbanke. Prior to that, he received a BS and a MS degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 2010 and 2012, respectively. His research interests include machine learning, data science, wireless communication systems, network information theory and modern coding theory.

He was the recipient of a Dan David Prize Scholarship in 2015, and an Early Postdoc.Mobility Fellowship from the Swiss NSF in 2017. He received the IEEE Jack Keil Wolf ISIT Student Paper Award in 2015, the STOC Best Paper Award in 2016, and was selected as a finalist in the Shannon Centennial Student Competition in 2016. His thesis was awarded the Patrick Denantes Memorial Prize for best PhD thesis in the School of Computer and Communication Sciences at EPFL in 2017.
