Konstantin Kakaes

Konstantin Kakaes is a journalist who writes about science, technology, and society and an editor at MIT Technology Review. He has written for Slate, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and numerous other publications. He is the author of an e-book about space exploration and failure in scientific discovery, The Pioneer Detectives (2013), and co-author and editor of Drones and Aerial Observation (2015), a short book about novel uses of unmanned aircraft around the world. From 2011 to 2018 he was a fellow at the New America Foundation, a non-partisan think tank in Washington, DC. He was a 2009-10 Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT. Prior to that he was on staff at The Economist, first covering science and technology in London and then as Mexico City Bureau Chief. He has an undergraduate degree in physics from Harvard University.
