Fatma Kılınç-Karzan

Fatma Kılınç-Karzan is an Associate Professor of Operations Research at Tepper School of Business, at Carnegie Mellon University. She received her PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology under the supervision of Arkadi Nemirovski. Her research interests are in mathematical optimization, including both convex optimization theory and algorithms, and their applications in machine learning, optimization under uncertainty, and non-convex optimization on building dynamic and tractable relaxations. She is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award (2015), INFORMS Optimization Society Young Researcher Prize (2015), and INFORMS Junior Faculty Interest Group (JFIG) Best Paper Award (2014); and at CMU, the BP Junior Faculty Chair (2014-2015), Faculty Giving Chair (2012-2013), and Wimmer Fellowship (2012-2013).
